Dearest Dad

What can I write except to reiterate what I've said so many times. You were and continue to be the foundational block for my life and our family. Your hard work and care for your wife and children laid the ground work for this family to become successful financially, morally and spiritually. The one major trait that you exhibited was unconditional acceptance. You didn't judge any of your sons for our choices. Without this nonjudgmental support, I would not have grown through the trials and losses of my life, and have actually flourished.

Gene and Audrey moved to Bozeman, MT and took over the restaurant called The New Grill. They sold it in 1985 and reclaimed it in 1988. After this, business seemed to double as if Bozeman said "Yay, you're back!" According to locals the "egg foo young" was the best.

They finally sold the business and building in 1993 and retired to Las Vegas. Gene became an avid player of the card game called Pan and he enjoyed the slots at the local casinos. He also financed and loved the family's yearly vacations. My favorites were the Danube River cruise and the Mediterranean cruise to Greece. I also had the privilege to accompany dad on two trips to China where we got to visit his mother and mom's villages.

Gene peacefully transitioned on 8/29/2025 with his family, wife Audrey, sons Homer, Gary and Bob, daughter in-law Sharon, and granddaughters Julia and Lauren, by his side.

I am truly amazed on how you created quite a beautiful and highly functional legacy, especially from such a humble beginning. My heart is bursting with gratitude and joy and we are so blessed that you were and still are a huge part of our lives, even as this is being typed. You did good!

With much unconditional Love
