Funeral services for Geneva Sweat Adcox, 87, of Rayville, LA were held at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 20, 2025 at Holly Ridge Baptist Church, Holly Ridge, LA with Bro. William Gilbert officiating. Interment was in the Holly Ridge Baptist Cemetery, Holly Ridge, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
Mrs. Geneva was born September 3, 1937 in Bonita, LA and passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 in Rayville, LA after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Travis Arlon Adcox; parents, Ephraim Sweat and Rener Browder; stepfather, Hilton Browder; sisters, Julia Ann "Cindy" Allen and Eunice Sassman; and brothers, Thomas James Sweat, Jimmy Edward Sweat, and Freddie Sweat.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Jackson and husband, Charley of Rayville, LA; grandchildren, Allison Nicole Whitstine and husband, Jacob of Rayville, LA, Lacey Leanne Johnston of Rayville, LA, and Huey "Buster" Johnston of Epps, LA; great grandchildren, Connor Whitstine, Teagan Brown, Sawyer Whitstine, Bentley Brown, Alli Claire Whitstine, and Arlon Gentry Johnston; brothers, John Wayne Sweat and Allen Sweat; special friends, Melissa Mathers, Judy Slayter, Kathy Middleton, and Dan Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Buster Johnston, Jacob Whitstine, James Talbert, Scotty Brown, Michael Martinez, and Daniel Martinez.
Honorary pallbearers were Charley Jackson, Calvin Carrington, Dan Martinez, Michael Allen, and Paul Allen.
