Geneva Anderson, 79, of Lexington, KY passed away on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. She was born in Corbin, KY on July 27, 1944, to the late R.J and Dorothy Mitchell. Geneva was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired as a Registered Nurse at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She loved flowers and was a long-time member of Tutors for Christ Ministry. She is survived by four sisters, Anna Sue (James Ed) Blevins, Falmouth, KY, Francie (Paul Ard) Vest, Beattyville, KY, Virginia Endicott, Fairfield, OH and Angela (Gina Marshall) Mitchell, Corbin, KY; two brothers, Bobby Ray (Gay) Mitchell, Butler, KY and Jerry Wayne Mitchell, Augusta, KY; many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by one brother, Michael David Mitchell. A Visitation will be 1pm-2:30pm Sun. Feb. 18, 2024, at Clark Legacy Center – Brannon Crossing with a service at 2:30pm. A reception to following the service until 5pm. Burial will be private at Hart Cemetery in Corbin, KY. Memorial Donations can be submitted in her name if desired at tutorsforchristministries.org

Geneva was such a special friend. We had so many good times together. I first met Geneva at Aglow several years ago. We had a circle of friends and would exercise, go to events and out to restaurants. Geneva was so sweet and so kind. After l moved away three years ago, we continued our friendship and kept in touch by phone. Geneva, l will miss you, your sweet spirit and your zest for life. Rest In Peace my dear friend.

She was such a loveing friend. We had some enjoyable times together. Her birthday was the same as my husband and mine so that made her more special. Our Sincere Sympathy Marsha Short whom Geneva was a faithful friend and met her every Wednesday to eat out and help her get groceries, Tommy and Angela Hood
