Indianapolis, Indiana – Geneva Duncan, 84, passed away peacefully after being comforted by her family on August 8, 2025.
Geneva was born on May 9, 1941, to parents Harvey & Emma (Keith) Branscum in Stearns, Kentucky. She met the love of her life, Raymond Duncan, and the two were married in 1960. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2019.
Geneva was a dedicated caretaker and mom, not only working full time for the Indianapolis Public School system as a custodian for over 33 years but then coming home and taking care of her own children. She would cook three solid meals for them a day, make sure the house was clean and tidy, and that they knew they were loved.
When not taking care of her family or at work, Geneva could be found shopping or listening to classic country music.
In addition to her parents, Geneva is preceded in death by her beloved Raymond, and her siblings Wilma Duncan, Kathleen Bruce (Don), Arthur Branscum, and Harvey Branscum.
She is survived by her children Jeff Duncan, Chris Duncan (Melissa), Mike Duncan, and Jerry Duncan (Patricia); siblings Margie Dobbs, Irene Coffee, and Charles Branscum; grandchildren Travis Duncan, Shane Duncan, Christopher Duncan, Matthew Duncan, Austin Duncan, Nick Duncan, Chad Duncan, Macy Duncan, and Eli Duncan; as well as 9 great-grandchildren.
