Geneva Ann Johnson, age 84, of Fair Play, Missouri, passed away on December 23, 2023. She was born on September 25, 1939, to Petrus Cyril and Alvena Caroline (Robinson) Maelbrancke. and passed away on Dec 23, 2023. Geneva grew up in the communities of Ozark, Springfield, and Bolivar. She graduated from Ozark High School in 1957. On November 10, 1960, Geneva was united in marriage to Paul Oran Johnson. The couple shared 48 years of marriage before Paul's untimely passing in 2008. Geneva and Paul were blessed with, two children, Carolyn Lynn Wood and Debra Lynn Parker.
While Geneva's family lived in many areas, most of their time was spent in Bolivar, Missouri. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening, she especially loved her flower gardens. Geneva also enjoyed playing softball on many different teams, many of which involved her family. Nothing gave Geneva more joy and fulfillment than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and also spending time outdoors.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Petrus and Alvena Maelbrancke; husband, Paul; brother, Charles; daughter, Debbie; and stepson, Ronnie. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Wood and husband, Rodger of Springfield; granddaughter, Johanna Crump and husband, Jamie of Springfield; grandson, Ben Parker and wife, Elizabeth of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Bryan Parker and wife, Jamie of Fair Play, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Jacob Davis, Kenzie Parker, Kameryn Parker, Kaylynn Parker, Zach, and Sarah, stepson, Stephen Johnson; sisters, Della Nichols and Evelyn Maelbrancke; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation for Geneva Ann Johnson will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 am, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield. A graveside service for Geneva will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following her visitation at 11:00 am. There will be a formal procession from the funeral home to the cemetery where Geneva will be laid to rest next to her husband.
