Glenda "Sue" Moore

Glenda “Sue” Moore, age 77, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away surrounded by her loving family. Born in Roswell, New Mexico, to Steven and Irene (Dalgarn) Nowak, Sue was lovingly nicknamed “Sugar” as a child—an endearing name that followed her throughout life and matched her sweet spirit perfectly. A graduate of Ozark High School, Class of 1966, she was known for the warmth, kindness, and generosity that shaped everything she did.

Sue always had a fresh-baked cake on her kitchen counter and was widely known for being one of the best cooks around. She raised three boys on a dairy farm, working hard alongside them—milking cows, driving the school bus, and keeping the household running. Family was always her first priority, and she made certain they were cared for in every way. Her home was a place of hospitality, where everyone had a seat at her table and always felt welcome.

She taught her sons the importance of good character, compassion, and caring for others. Sue had a special heart for people with intellectual disabilities and served as a caretaker for many, treating them as part of her own family and including them in gatherings and celebrations. She also made sure her boys learned to value others by taking them to visit friends in nursing homes.

Sue had a wonderful gift for creativity and could make a quilt out of just about anything. She loved cooking, quilting, traveling with the family to rodeos, and never missed an event her grandchildren were involved in—especially rodeo activities. She enjoyed Branson shows, particularly the Baldknobbers and the Presleys. Always put together, Sue was known for her classy style—hair, makeup, and jewelry just right every time.

She was a devoted member and deacon of Selmore Christian Church in Ozark, Missouri.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Moore; her parents, Steve and Irene Nowak; her brothers, Junior Nowak and Johnny Nowak; and her sister, Lorene Kuykendall.

She is survived by her three sons, Phil (Erin) Clayman, Jim Bob (Kelly) Clayman, and John (Chanda) Clayman; grandchildren Anna Cate Clayman, Payden Clayman, Sydney (Reese) Jenkins, Clay Clayman, Ryden Clayman, Bryce Clayman, Hannah Clayman, and Myka Clayman; and by a very special friend considered a daughter, Heather (Michael) Palmertree, along with her children Jake Dralle and Lilly Dralle.

Sue’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark with Ken Beck officiating.  Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri at a later date.  

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
