Joyce Faye Bewley, age 92, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Joyce was born to Robert Trout Curtis and Gladys (Goss) Curtis on May 28, 1933, in Graham, Oklahoma, located in Carter County. She was united in marriage to Herbert Bewley, Jr. on July 5, 1955, in Callahan County, Abilene, Texas. Joyce and Junior were blessed with one loving child, Catherine Darlene.
Joyce faithfully attended Calvary Assembly of God in Enid, Oklahoma. For many years, she enjoyed decorating the church for Christmas and Easter. Joyce was a devoted homemaker who loved her roles as wife and mother. Joyce had many hobbies and interests, including crafting and ceramics. She also enjoyed collecting and restoring antiques. Every year, Joyce's husband cultivated a huge garden. She spent a great deal of time each summer canning vegetables and sharing their goods with church members and neighbors. During the summertime, Joyce also enjoyed making the Curtis family favorite-banana ice cream. Joyce loved to make candy and decorate sugar cookies during the holidays. She also enjoyed the beauty of various flowers and plants.
Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Robert Trout Curtis; mother, Gladys Ruby (Goss) Curtis; sisters: Reba June Curtis, Deloris Ann Curtis, Ina Margaret Lawson; and brothers: Billy Gene Curtis, Johnny Dell Curtis, and Bobby Dean Curtis. She is survived by her daughter, Cathey Roten and her husband, Daren, of Ozark, Missouri; granddaughter, Alyssa Roten, of Ozark, Missouri; and sister, Glenda Baker. Joyce is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Joyce loved her family very much and shared Christ with them every chance she could. She was loved dearly and will be deeply missed by all.
