Genevieve Greenwood Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 12, 2025.
Genevieve "Sue" Sueanne Greenwood, 91, of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025.

Born in Baltimore on June 22, 1934, Sue was the daughter of the late Harry P. and Genevieve S. Feihe and sister of the late Harry P. Feihe II. After graduating secretarial school, she began her professional life in New York City, working at CBS. She later returned to Baltimore, where she met her beloved husband, the late David G. Greenwood. Together they built a life centered on family, education, and community.

Sue and David began their union in Dundalk before moving to Towson to raise their family and eventually settling in Timonium following David's retirement. She devoted many years to working in school offices within the Baltimore County Public School system, where she was known for her kindness, patience, and dedication to staff, students, and families. Education was a shared calling for Sue and David, who himself served as an educator for many years. When David's health declined in later years, Sue lovingly cared for him for over 20 years, a testament to her devotion and strength.

Sue is survived by her loving son, John David Greenwood, and his wife Alisa, along with her cherished grandson, Joseph Henry Greenwood, who is currently studying to become an elementary school teacher and carry on the family's legacy of service to education.

Her warmth, steady presence, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sue's memory to the National Educators Association Foundation, 1201 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20036, or online at www.neafoundation.org.
