Genevieve C. Gregg ObituaryGenevieve (Jenny) C. Gregg (Eastwood)
July 31, 1931 - February 10, 2025
Genevieve (Jenny) Gregg, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, in
Stow, Ohio, at the age of 93.
Jenny was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, where the bustling streets, strong community, and hard-working spirit shaped her resilience, toughness, and deep warmth. It was in Brooklyn where she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Gregg Sr., during his service in the Marine Corps. Their journey took them to Ohio, where they raised their family and created countless memories. Together, they built a life rooted in love and laughter, sharing over 75 years of marriage.
Bob may have been a Marine, but Jenny was the one giving the orders. She was the heart of her family, always welcoming everyone with an open door, a gentle smile, and a wonderful meal (city chicken or kielbasa bread if you were fortunate). No one ever left her home hungry. Compassionate and fiercely loyal, she took immense pride in her family and was the ultimate caretaker.
Also known for a sense of humor, she was often the target of playful joking from her grandkids-resulting in that New York accent coming out and her shouting that they "were asking for facka [FAHT-skoo]," (a Czech term for a light-hearted smack).
Jenny was a devout believer who lived her faith with quiet grace and humility. Even in her final years, as she faced the challenges of failing vision and dementia, her faith shone through as she still could recall and sing lyrics of "Jesus Loves Me," a testament to the enduring hope that guided her throughout life.
Jenny is preceded in death by her father, George Eastwood; mother, Alice (Lorey) Bode; husband, Robert Gregg Sr.; brothers, Albert and Joseph Eastwood; and sister, Catherine Tuma. She is survived by her sister, Edna May Bode; brother, Steven (Joanne) Eastwood; children, Linda (Paul) Koberg and Robert Jr. (Jane) Gregg; grandchildren, Damon Gregg, Benjamin Gregg, and Jonah (Jennifer) Gregg; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Campbell Rose Gregg; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 11:00 am until Noon at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (3333 Kent Rd,
Stow, OH 44224 at Rt 91) where funeral services will take place beginning at Noon. Interment will follow at Silver Springs Cemetery (5080 Stow Rd,
