Genevieve Martinez, born on April 25, 1966, in California, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was a devoted wife to Joel Zazueta and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Genevieve was known for her kindness, warmth, and infectious sense of humor. She found immense joy in spending time with her family, particularly during the holidays, where her spirit shone brightest. Her passion for cooking brought her family together, and summer gatherings outdoors with her children and grandchildren were a highlight of her life.
Throughout her years, Genevieve enjoyed listening to music and watching television, finding comfort in these simple pleasures. She was also a remarkable matriarch, having raised her grandkids, Ricardo Acosta and Adriel Martinez, while also being blessed with over 20 other grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She came from a large family, with over 20 siblings, and her bond with them was an essential part of her life. Genevieve deeply understood the value of family, and her legacy will undoubtedly continue through her numerous descendants.
Genevieve is survived by her beloved children: Antonio Mendez (son), Victoria Rangel (daughter), Julia Frutis (daughter), Justino Frutis (son), Elizabeth Frutis (daughter), and Kelly Frutis (daughter).
Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her joyful spirit and the memories she created will forever be etched in the minds of her family and friends. Genevieve Martinez will be dearly missed.
