Genevieve Sylvia Samson

Genevieve Sylvia Samson, stepped into glory 9 pm, October 19th, 2021. Lovingly known as Jean, Mom, Grammy, Great Grammy, Sis, Aunt Jeanie, and Aunt Genevieve, was born on October 16th 1933, to the late Sylvester Rome and Anna Mary Tremacco Rome. Jean married Robert S. Samson, December 23, 1950. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Deborah Jean, and a son, Michael Robert. First and foremost to her, was being a loving wife, and mother. She was manager at Arrowhead Christian Bookstore, in Binghamton, NY. She was secretary to the Hallstead Christian Academy, and a faifhful member of First Baptist Church of Hallstead, PA., serving as church clerk, janitor, Primary Dept Sunday School teacher, Jr training hour teacher, youth group leader, involved with the Ladies missionary group. She was a seamstress, making our clothes, and making and mending for others. Surviving is her daughter, Deborah J (Jerry) Hamblin; her daughter-in-law, Susan E Samson (Fred) Mullen; and her brother, William Rex Farnham. Jean loved her five very tall grandsons: Matthew Robert (Laura) Samson, Benjamin Michael (Monica) Samson, Kurtis Richard (Laura Elizabeth) Samson, Michael Joseph (Kirstin) Hamblin, Paul Brian (Jaime) Hamblin. She also loved her eight great grandchildren: Anna Mae, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Sue Samson. Nolan James Samson, Hannah Elizabeth, Rachel Olivia, Rebekah Gabriella, and Josiah Benjamin Hamblin, and anxiously anticipating baby girl Hamblin due in December. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Smith Samson; son, Michael Robert Samson; and a sister, Caroline Ann Smith. The family appreciates the loving compassionate care at Hornell Gardens Hornell, NY. Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Hallstead, PA. at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 30th 2021. Calling hours from 12 until the service begins at 1pm.
