Geni Marie (Newton) Tipton, age 35, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Geni was born April 12, 1990 in Johnson City, Tennessee to Karen Newton (Hyatt) Trent and the late Kenneth Wayne Newton. In addition to her father, Geni was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Harley Marie Hoilman.
Geni was loving, funny and smart. Above all she was a loving momma, sister, friend and daughter who loved her children and her family more than anything else. She loved to live life to the fullest and was always full of laughter and fun to be around. She cared about people of all kinds deeply and would give her last dime to anyone in need. She had a heart of pure gold and was of the Baptist faith. Geni loved to restore old furniture and was very crafty. She loved making treasures with her kids and playing outside with them. Geni also loved to go fishing and taking long drives just to breathe in the outdoors and reflect on the beauty around her.
Those left to cherish Geni's memory include her mother and step father, Karen and Robert Trent; her paternal grandparents, Ron and Elva Newton; her beloved children, Jackson Newton, Kennedy Ann Ratliff and Silas Bloome; her sister and brother-in-law, Shanoka Ratliff and David; and two nephews, Matthew and Ebon Ratliff. Several aunts, uncles and other extended family also survive.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105) may be made in remembrance of Geni.
