Mrs. Gennice Alvis Hunt, a beloved matriarch of 94 years, peacefully departed this world on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at her cherished home in the Parrish Good Springs area. In this time of loss, we remember a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to love, resilience, and family.
Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her loving parents, James Lewis and Lillie Septimmer Alvis, along with her siblings—brothers Elbert and Orvial, and sisters Dorothy, Dora Edith, Doris, Roy Edna, and Jannie Marie. Her daughter, Gloria Jean Franks, also awaits her in eternal rest.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Beverly Webb; her sons, Sam “Sammy” Hunt III, James Lewis Hunt, and Kenneth Randy Hunt; and a legacy that includes eight grandchildren and a myriad of great-grandchildren. The love she shared with her family will continue to inspire and guide them through life.
A visitation in honor of Mrs. Hunt will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Sam Hood Memorial Chapel of Freeman Hood Funeral Services, with funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Oakhill Cemetery, where Jerry Boyd will officiate.
As we gather to celebrate her life, let us cherish the memories of laughter, warmth, and countless moments that defined Mrs. Gennice Alvis Hunt—a true pillar of her family and a beautiful soul who will be deeply missed.
