It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Geoffrey Alan Goddard, 61 of Gilbert, AZ. Geoff leaves behind his beloved partner, Lisa Shaw, mother and stepfather, Anne and Bill Jennings of Buckeye AZ., daughters Mia (Joseph) Goddard, of Rockford, Il., Gabby Goddard of St. Charles Mo., son Joshua Goddard of St. Charles Mo., brothers Christopher (Karen) Goddard, of Waddell Az., & Joel (Armida) Goddard of Prescott Valley, AZ., stepchildren, Tara (Sean) Reynolds, Sasha (Jeff) Stokes, Nicole (Kevin) Ivie, Alexia Frank, and several grandchildren. Geoff was preceded in death by his infant son, his father Roger, brother Brian, his partner's son, Shay Frank and several grandparents.
Geoff was born in Rockford, Illinois and lived in North Augusta, South Carolina during his school years. He had lived in Arizona for most of his adult life.
Geoff was a born musician, athlete, and writer. From 1977-1981 he played tuba in the South Carolina all-state band. In 1981 he joined the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps based in Rockford, IL., and competed at DCI International with the Corp as an Open Class Finalist (5th place). He also performed as a vocalist in karaoke venues throughout the Midwest.
While serving as school board president in Maricopa, AZ. Geoff organized a performance and a clinic by the Phantom Regiment, enriching the lives of area students. In his youth he excelled at basketball, baseball, and golf. More recently, Geoff enjoyed mountain biking in the Arizona foothills.
In recent years, Geoff developed a passion for writing about his love for Jesus Christ and was a published author on www.mygospelmessenger.com compiling articles of faith on a variety of Christian topics.
As a successful business owner of Noble Notary Now, an online notary firm, Geoff enjoyed meeting with and learning about his client's needs, many of whom soon became his friends.
Geoff, you will be missed beyond words by your family and friends. Angels have rejoiced, another child of God has come home!
