Mr. George Elvin Adams, 82, of Double Bridges Road, Elberton, husband of 60 years to Linda Thornton Adams, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023, at his residence with loved ones by his side.
George was born in Elberton on February 3, 1941, son of the late George Marshall Adams and Mary Nell Alexander Adams. By trade he was a dairy farmer, and he retired after 50 years. A friend to all, George never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone. He was known for and fondly remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Linda, are his children: Denise and Tim Jordan, Wayne and Nickie Adams, Teresa Adams and Steve Brown, Mike and Kim Adams, and Keith and Amy Adams; siblings: Arthur Frank Adams and Joyce Adams Ray; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: David Adams and Wendell Adams.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 7, from 5:00-5:45p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 6:00p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. John Creason officiating. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
