Lowry Franklin Hall

Today we gather to honor and remember our father, Lowry Franklin Hall.

Dad was 82 years old. He was born in Royston, Georgia, and raised in Elbert County-places that shaped the strong, hardworking man we all knew. On March 18th at 2:18 p.m., he passed away from complications of strokes, surrounded by the love of his family.

He proudly served our country in the United States Army for six years as a sharpshooter and military policeman. That discipline and sense of duty stayed with him throughout his life.

After his service, Dad built a long and steady career with Georgia Power, where he worked for 30 years before retiring. But retirement didn't slow him down-he went on to become a contractor, building homes and continuing to work with his hands, something he truly loved.

Dad was a family man at his core. He found joy in the simple things-bowling, fishing, fixing things around the house. If something was broken, Dad could fix it. If something needed to be built, he could build it. And if someone needed help, he was there.

He is survived by his sister, Angela Rooker; his niece, Jessica Rooker Campbell; and his nephew, Jon Vickery. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Jeremy Rooker.

He is also survived by his first wife, Carol Ann Scurlock of Hartwell, Georgia, and Syble Folds of Conyers, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Barbara Jean Hall of Conyers, Georgia.

He leaves behind his daughters: Allison Leigh Gomez and her husband James of Monroe, Georgia; Tracy Lea Blackmore and her husband James of Oxford, Georgia; Sandy Dale Glover and Jeni Suzanne Standard of Stone Mountain, Georgia; and myself, Susan Elizabeth Werner, and my husband Adam of St. Cloud, Florida.

He is also survived by his grandchildren: Kaitlyn Ashley Werner, Bayleigh Victoria Polizzi, Josephine Anise Standard, and Michael James Blackmore; and his great-grandchildren: Arielle Rose French, Easton Cain Polizzi, Harper Elizabeth Polizzi, and Amelia Jane Polizzi.

Dad leaves behind a legacy of strength, dedication, and love for his family. His life was one of quiet consistency-showing up, working hard, and caring deeply for the people around him.

He may no longer be with us in person, but the things he built, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave will stay with us always.

We love you, Dad. And we will carry you with us, every day.
