George William Adkins, III, age 51, of Asheboro passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
Mr. Adkins was born on May 24, 1973 in Pikeville, KY to George and Deborah Adkins.
He served with the U.S. Airforce for five years and was employed with DS Smith Packaging and Paper for 27+ years. George loved the Lord and was a member of North Asheboro Church of God where he loved his church family. He was a simple man with great values.
George loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved being a Pawpaw. He was a hard worker and master of all trades.
George is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lou Adkins; son, Hunter (Ashley) Adkins of Sophia; daughter, Hailey (Zachary) Carter of Randleman; parents, George and Debbie Adkins; grandchildren, Raelynn Carter and Bryson Adkins; sister, Jeanetta Adkins of Hedgesville, WV.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 9, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Carter officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Memorial Gardens.
