George Salvatore Ali passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on January 19, 2024. He was born in Lodi, New Jersey; he lived in Garfield and Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey until finally retiring on his farm in North Carolina.
George was a man of many talents through the years, chef, baker and owner of the Pot Luck Diner in Garfield, New Jersey, proud member of Garfield Fire Company #1 and lastly the owner/operator of Kody Transport Inc. a long-haul logistics company.
George was not one to sit idle always working on projects, willing to help someone in need and famous for his one liners. He was very patriotic, known to always have a dog by his side, and passionate about the American flag. He spent days tinkering and decorating for all the holidays; Christmas and Halloween being his favorites. He was a dedicated Free Mason, Oasis Shriner and member of the Scottish Rites.
George is survived by his three children, Victoria Fernandez (Lorenzo Jr.), Kyle and Rachael Brookes (Randy); his 10 grandsons, Dylan, Tyler, Hunter, Austyn, Chase, Colton, Bryce, Ayden, Lorenzo III and George; He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Hettel and nieces Louise Lanzerotti (Jerry), Marilyn Hettel & nephew Patrick. As well as dear friends Siglinda Kasperzak and Ellamae Battipaglia. Predeceased by his sons Jason and Gregory, daughter Patricia Williams, sister Rachael Ali, former wife Susan Ali (Kovalycsik) and long-time companion Evelyn Wilson Alberts.
Family and Friends are invited to attend visitation and a service on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany. Cremation is private. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Shiners Hospitals for Children at https://lovetotherescue.org
