George Ray Altman Sr.

George Ray Altman, Sr., 86. of Macon, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Funeral services to honor his life will be held on Monday, October 6, at 2:00 PM at FairHaven Funeral Home with Pastor, Phil Skelton officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. Mr. Altman will be laid to rest at North Prong Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 94 North Blvd E, Macclenny, FL 32063, with a graveside service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 11.

Mr. Altman was born on December 31, 1938, in Macclenny, Florida, to the late Mr. Admiral Dewey Altman and Mrs. Carrie Williams Altman. He was a member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church and was the owner operator of Georgia Orthotics and Prosthetics. He was a God loving man and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He never met a stranger and helped so many.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Altman was preceded in death by his son, George Ray Altman, Jr.; daughter, Lizbeth Etheridge; and siblings, JB Altman, Lonzie Altman, Morris Altman, Willa Mae Raulerson, Mallavene Crawford, Phyllis Upchurch, and Pearlie Taylor.

Left to cherish Mr. Altman's memory are his wife of 66 years, Billie Louise Camp Altman; Children, Carrie Collin's, Tony Collin's, and Gail Altman; Grandchildren, Admiral Dewey Altman, Ashley Altman, Chassity Andrews, Michael Andrews, Donia Wright, Adam Wright, Courtney Whitcomb, Dalton Whitcomb, Khristayle Etheridge, Luke Timothy Etheridge Jr., Justin Sharp, and Kelly Sharp; siblings, Wilbert Altman (Evelyn), Albert Altman(Laverne), Margaret Altman, Linda Sue Tyre, and Peggy Keeves (Bill); and numerous nieces and nephews.
