George Bevins Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 12, 2025.
With profound sadness we announce the passing of George Paul Bevins, who went home to Jesus on August 9, 2025, passing away peacefully at his home in Crownsville, Maryland after fighting a 6-year battle with Early-Onset Alzheimer's Disease.

Born in Bethesda, Maryland on March 15, 1964, George brought joy and warmth to everyone who knew him. George is leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and community service.

George was the cherished son of George Bevins and Lorraine Bevins (DeSena), both deceased. He is also predeceased by his mother-in-law, Judith A. Alewine, and sister-in-law, Joanne M. Alewine.

George is survived by his devoted wife, Jennifer L. Bevins (Alewine), with whom he shared over 30 years together and 25 years of marriage since their union on April 17, 1999. Together they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and deep love. George was a proud and loving father to his son, Sean M. Bevins, and daughter-in-law, Marryn; his daughter, Sarah L. Bevins. George also leaves his beloved brother, Matthew J. Bevins and his children, Nathaniel, Ethan, Sophia, and Gabriel Bevins; brother-in-law Christopher S. Alewine (Dara) and their children Jonah and Elia; sister-in-law Bethanie G. Stratton (David) and their children Brooke and Avery; nephew Josh Woodard; daughter-in-love, Heather Dole-Ueberroth-Williams, son-in-love, Chobie vanRossum along with a wealth of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends. All who crossed George's path brought him joy, laughter, and unwavering support throughout his life.

A proud graduate of Severna Park High School (Class of 1982), George was a member of the Falcons football and wrestling teams. After schooling, George dedicated over 40 years to the commercial construction industry, culminating in his role as Director of Safety with Brawner Builders in Hunt Valley. Known for his commitment to safety and excellence, he was respected and admired by colleagues and peers alike.

Beyond his career, George was deeply involved in his community. He was a longtime member of the Severna Park Monday Seniors Bowling League, a dedicated coach with Arden Athletics, and a mentor to young people-teaching them how to build projects, work on vehicles, and take pride in craftsmanship. George never met a tool he didn't like! A passionate sports fan, he spent over 20 years playing flag football, softball and in the Commissioner role of his Fantasy Football League, where his competitive spirit and humor shined.

George's life was defined by kindness, loyalty, and love for his family and friends. Though Alzheimer's took its toll, it never diminished his radiating spirit, humor or the impact he made on those around him. His light will live on in the memories and stories shared by those he touched.

Rest in peace, dear George. Your journey on earth may have ended, but your spirit will forever live in our hearts.

Arrangements will be announced at a later date.
