George Brown Obituary

George Michael Brown, 62, of Washington, died Thursday, January 29, 2026. He was born June 4, 1963, to the late Freddie and Marlene McKenzie Brown. He was a graduate of Washington High School and went on to work as a nurse at George Washington Hospital in Washington D.C. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Washington. Surviving are sisters, Sheree Porter of Washington and Dawn Evans of Washington D.C.; nephews, Rico Porter and Michael Sutton; and nieces, Dawn Sutton and Mia Funderburk. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. All other services will be private. To my\n Dear friend George, I haven't seen you in over 50 years and lo and behold. You show up at my mother's funeral just 6 months ago.\n Unbelievable in today's society The type friendship that you gave out to everyone truly from your heart, I can't explain how I feel and how I feel about you as a friend, everyone on earth should have known you, they all would have loved, you are sure going to be missed. Until we meet again, my dear friend. Please rest easy, George. I know you're happy up there with your mom.\n You often posted things about her dance with her.
