Marilyn Diane Burger (nee Pappin) and George John Burger of Fairview Park, Ohio were inseparable throughout their lives. On August 20, 2025 Diane was united with Christ and George joined her side quickly on August 24, 2025. They were both surrounded in their last days by their beloved children James, Laurie, Joyce and close family members prior to their passing.

Diane and George were married on January 1, 1951 at White Avenue Baptist Church while George was on leave from the U. S. Marine Corp and were blessed to spend seventy four years together in a loving and devoted marriage. They guided their three cherished children who became their pride and joy. Daily they would remind them of how deeply they were loved.

Diane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a dedicated homemaker while also working as a professional cosmetologist for many years. Due to George's many hours away at work Diane would pass the time by bread making, sewing, crafting, and teaching others her skills she acquired. Music and singing was a gift she enjoyed throughout her life.

George enjoyed living the simple life. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. George loved his profession as a locomotive engineer for New York Central and then Contrail for forty-one years. George received great pleasure helping his neighbors and working inside and outside of his home. He loved mowing his yard and making sure the children in his neighborhood could safely get on the school bus during the winter. He won the Award for Clean Sidewalks from his city.

Together George and Diane were active members of Bay Presbyterian Church. George was an active member of the Tuesday Morning Men's Bible Study and together they participated in the Cancer Support Group and the Promise Choir. George also worked helping others through Habitat for Humanity. Diane and George loved animals especially their three Boxer dogs and once they were gone, they would love on their many "granddogs" that would visit them regularly. They all knew who Papa George was and couldn't wait for the special meal he would prepare for them when they visited.

Diane and George are survived by their three beloved children James (Cindy) Burger, Laurie (Beth) Toth, Joyce (Mark) Roberts; cherished grandchildren James (Lisa) Burger II, Joshua (Kate) Burger, Nathan (Andrea) Burger, Holly (Sean) Doty, Carrie Toth, John Paul Toth, Tracie (Pat) Vanuch, Jessica Roberts, and Allison (Tommy) Frost; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
