February 21, 1949 - February 9, 2025
George Bussing, 75, of Saratoga Springs, passed away on February 9, 2025. George was born
at home in Greenwich NY to Raymond G. and Kathlyn (Russom) Bussing. He attended schools
in Greenwich and Schuylerville NY, and served in the army for two years including one year in
Vietnam.
George lived in the Saratoga area except for 1974-2005 when he lived in St. Petersburg FL. He
worked in sheet metal shops in both locations, along with many other jobs. He worked at Lowe's
customer service in Saratoga Springs from 2015 until his passing.
He is survived by siblings Janet (Mike) Kniffen of Greenwich NY, Ray (Barb) Bussing of
Greenwich NY, Randy (Linda) Bussing of Argyle NY, Greg (Michelle) Bussing of Glens Falls NY,
and Brian Bussing of Greenwich NY; former wife Judy Squires Bussing of Schuylerville NY;
children Laurie (Garry) Miller of Saratoga Springs NY, Chuck (Tanya) Relyea of Castle Rock CO,
and Pete Relyea of Clearwater FL; grandchildren Stacy Osborne, Brittany (Chad) Hubbard,
Brian (Kristine) Relyea, Kayla (Thomas Leyva) Relyea and Cory Relyea; five
great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his
parents, Kathlyn and Raymond Bussing.
His favorite hobbies were fishing, drinking beer and cooking. Beloved pets included dogs Buddy
and Harley, and cats Cat and Bud Bud.
A private family ceremony will be held at Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
donations in George's honor may be sent to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
