Ann Stuart Winn-Mueller

Ann Stuart Winn-Mueller died on February 10, 2026, in Albany Medical Center from heart failure and emphysema. She was 76. Ann was born in Rochester, NY, on July 14, 1949 and was brought up in Slingerlands, NY. She attended Bethlehem public schools and subsequently received a BA with honors in history from the University of Rochester. She went on to earn an MSW at Rutgers University and entered private practice as a clinical social worker. In 1996 she changed fields and became a creator and vendor of voice recognition products. In time, she started her own software company, VoxScripta (voice written). After two decades of successfully operating her business, Ann retired in 2025.

In addition to her professional work, Ann engaged in a number of interests and activities. These included home construction (she served as general contractor in a home remodeling project), woodworking, singing (lyrical soprano), beekeeping, gardening, and landscaping. She was politically active and always a strong advocate on women's issues. Above all, she was a devoted mother and homemaker. Friends and acquaintances found her to be a warm and responsive person, endowed with great energy and sense of purpose.

Ann is survived by her loving husband, David, her three children, Benjamin Mueller (Kelly Donnelly), Christopher Mueller (Karlyn Hiatt), and Catherine Wong (Michael Wong); by her stepson, Brian Mueller (Laurie Berkner); by her five grandchildren, Luke, Charlotte, Andrew, Dylan, and Jennifer; by her sister, Susan Jacobsen and her niece, Trine Jacobsen (Eamon Mahoney). Her loss has been a terrible blow to her family, who loved and cherished her deeply, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

All are welcome to attend a viewing on Saturday, February 21, 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Delmar Presbyterian Church, 585 Delaware Avenue, Delmar, NY 12054. A celebration of her life will be held at a date to be announced.
