George Cagle Obituary
Born in Hickory, North Carolina to the late Leroy and Angela (Scipioni) Cagle, he lived in the Somerset section of Franklin Township before moving to North Brunswick in 1981. He was a postmaster for the United States Postal Service where he worked for over 30 years in Somerset, East Brunswick and Neshanic Station.
Mr. Cagle was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. He was an NJSIAA football official and an avid golfer. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Korea during the Vietnam War.
His wife Carole A. (Spisak) Cagle died in 2022. Surviving are three sons – Robert Cagle of North Brunswick, Jason Cagle of Newfield and Jeremy Cagle and his wife Cheryl of Ponte Vedra, Florida; and five grandchildren – Kaitlyn, Courtney, Kelly, Avery and Brooke.
Cremation was private. A gathering of relatives and friends will be held 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Friday, August 4, 2023, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick with a funeral service to be held at 5:00 PM.

We miss George a lot. I can image the many hours of talking about what's happening in politics now during our breakfast meet-ups. We'd figure it all out and then say, but the problem is nobody listens to us! Thank you George for being in my life.

So sorry to hear of George´s passing. So many great memories. St Ladislaus basketball. Somerset Post Office. Both of us were Postmasters. Softball, over 30 hardball. Golf. But I miss our 45 min talks at ShopRite. RIP my friend. See u on the flip side.

Our sincere condolences to the Cagle family.
George was a great friend and an excellent neighbor. He was always a gentlemen to us, patient, kind, and wise.
I really enjoyed and looked forward to our long talks about current events, sports, and family things over breakfast at someplace local. And over the phone when I needed to travel.
I loved his passion for golf and playing this crazy game together.
