George W. Campbell

George W. Campbell, age 84, of Ocean View, Delaware, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Ocean Grove Post Acute Care in Millsboro, Delaware.

Born on August 21, 1941, in Selbyville, Delaware, George was the son of the late Walter Campbell and Elizabeth (Steele) Campbell.

George dedicated over 33 years of service to Delmarva Power, where he worked his way up to become a coal yard foreman before retiring. After retirement, he continued pursuing his lifelong passion for farming, working alongside Bruce Rickards.

A man who truly loved working with his hands, George found great joy in farming and restoring antique tractors. He was especially proud of participating in antique tractor pulls, where he earned many trophies over the years.

George was a simple, hardworking man devoted to providing for his family. His quiet strength, dedication, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Campbell; his son, Todd Campbell; his sister, Mary O'Neil; and two grandchildren, Peyton Campbell and Ashley Thompson.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Townsend, and her husband, Shane; and his grandchildren, Nathaniel Townsend, Brandon Townsend, and Daryl Carpenter.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher Street, Frankford, Delaware. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at Carey's Cemetery in Frankford.
