GEORGE ANTHONY CAPPUCCI

1928 - 2023

CAPPUCCI, George Anthony Of Groton, MA, passed away on February 19, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born to Francesco Cappucci and Maria D. (Colonna) Cappucci on February 23, 1928, in Cambridge, MA. A Navy Veteran, he served on a ship from 1946 - 1948 that called on ports from San Diego to Seattle, Hawaii, Japan, and China. He was a dedicated family man, an over three-decade employee of General Motors, a proud Democrat and UAW union member. In younger years, he enjoyed working in his garden and tending to his animals and lawn. George was predeceased by his loving wife, Theresa F. (Bettencourt) Cappucci of Groton and Cambridge, MA; and his parents and nine siblings. He is survived by his seven children, George F. Cappucci and wife, Deborah of Pepperell, MA, Frank R. Cappucci and wife, Deborah of The Villages, FL, Thomas P. Cappucci and wife, Debra of Pepperell, MA, Michael C. Cappucci of Gardner, MA, Joseph M. Cappucci and wife, Pamela of Townsend, MA, Paulette A. Hartwell of Athol, MA, and Paul T. Cappucci and husband, Timothy J. Carew of Milton, MA; as well as 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He and his wife, Theresa also parented many foster children over the years. Visiting Hours will be held in the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main St., (Rte. 113), PEPPERELL, MA, on Sunday, February 26, from 4 - 7 pm.
