George Abdo Chaber

George Abdo Chaber, of St. Albans, West Virginia, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
George was born on April 19,1941, to Abdo and Mary Chaber, in Aleppo, Syria.
George was a dedicated entrepreneur who owned several successful businesses throughout his lifetime. He was known for his keen business acumen and unwavering work ethic. However, beyond his professional accomplishments, George was a man of many passions, none more so than playing cards with his family and friends. George was also well known as a "pool shark" who was notorious for running tables on unsuspecting patrons a time or two (and for a dollar or two). George's greatest joy in life was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and laughter. He will be deeply missed by all who know him.
George was preceded in death by his parents Abdo and Mary Chaber and his brother, Habib Chaber.
Surviving family members include his sisters Adele Mityas of Smyrna, Georgia and Rhoda Mitias (Spiro Mitias) of Alum Creek, West Virginia, his brothers Dimitri Chaber (Mary Chaber) of St. Albans, West Virginia, Sami Chaber (Rola Chaber) of Hurricane, West Virginia, and Nicholas Chaber of Alum Creek, West Virginia, his sons Christian Chaber (Lisa Chaber) of Brookefield, Connecticut and Richard George Chaber (Maryann Chaber) of Kissimmee, Florida. Surviving grandchildren include Christian Baily Chaber of St. Albans, West Virginia, Jordan Habib Chaber of St. Albans, West Virginia, Zachary Chaber of Orlando, Florida, and Kristina Petry (Nathan Petry) of St. Albans, West Virginia. Surviving great-grandchildren include Kane Zachary Chaber of Orlando, Florida and Jaxon Petry of St. Albans, West Virginia, and countless cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The funeral will be on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home, St. Albans with Rev. Father Paul Solberg officiating. Burial will be at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, WV immediately following the funeral.
Visitations for family and friends will be held from 11:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
