Nicholas "Nick" Chaber, 74, of Alum Creek, West Virginia, passed away peacefully early on February 19, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.

Nick dearly loved spending time with his many nieces and nephews, as well as his great nieces and great nephews. Being around his family filled him with happiness, and they adored him just as much. Nick especially enjoyed talking about the Super Bowl and would excitedly bring it up whenever football season rolled around. He also loved reminding everyone about trips to the barber shop – making sure the kids got their haircuts – always with a smile on his face.

Nick's life was simple but meaningful. He found joy in everyday moments, in family gatherings, and in conversation. His constant smile, gentle laughter, and loving presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew him.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. George Orthodox Cathedral Church, Charleston, with Rev. Father Alex Mackhoul officiating. Burial will be at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, WV immediately following the funeral.
