In loving memory of George David Chase Jr., who peacefully passed away on May 10, 2024, in
a hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania. Born on October 12, 1938, George's journey touched the lives
of many, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever.
George faced adversity with resilience, battling cancer and enduring numerous medical
challenges stemming from his career as a miner. Despite these trials, he maintained unwavering
strength and determination.
Preceding him in death was his beloved wife, Genevieve, who passed away in 2015. Together,
they shared a bond that transcended time, leaving an indelible mark on those around them.
George is survived by his three loving children, Vicki Jean Chase, Dawn Lee Chase, and
Anthony Scott Chase, who meant the world to him. His presence will also be deeply missed by
his ten grandchildren and a multitude of great-grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with his
wisdom and love.
Friends and family gathered to pay their respects at a private viewing held on Wednesday, May
15, 2024, at House of Paradise Cremations, where memories of George's vibrant spirit and
gentle soul were shared.
Beyond his roles as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, George was known for his
passion for philately and his dedication to the Boy Scouts. His enthusiasm for stamp collecting
brought him joy and connected him with fellow enthusiasts worldwide. Additionally, his
involvement in the Boy Scouts exemplified his commitment to shaping young lives and fostering
a sense of camaraderie.
Though George may have departed from this world, his legacy of strength, kindness, and
passion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. May
