George Cioto Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home - Medfield on Dec. 2, 2025.
George A. Cioto, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend to all, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, surrounded by his family. George, 69, faced a courageous battle with cancer over the past several years. He approached his battle as he approached life-like a warrior. His loving spirit, can-do attitude, and relentless determination will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew him.

A lifelong resident of Medfield, MA, George is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Patricia, and their three children: Jennifer, Shawn, and Brendan. His love for family grew with the additions of his daughters-in-law, Sage and Paige, and most recently with the arrival of his granddaughter, Vivienne. He is also survived by siblings, Ellen, Paul, and Edward, along with many nieces and nephews.

A proud graduate of Medfield High School's Class of 1975, George remained steadfastly committed to the lifelong friendships of the "75ers," with whom he recently celebrated their 50th reunion. After high school, George completed his apprenticeship to become a union glazier, beginning a more than 30-year career with Modern Glass & Aluminum. He rose to become a respected foreman, leading numerous notable projects across Massachusetts with skill, pride, and dedication.

George retired in 2015 and embraced the next chapter of life with gratitude and a full heart. He spent long stretches at the family cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee, his most sacred place, where he found peace and joy. He leaned into his love for golf, working steadily on his handicap and proudly teaching his wife Patricia the game in recent years. He celebrated the weddings of both his sons in 2022-lighting up each dance floor as only George could. A family trip to Italy in 2023 checked off a bucket-list dream and created cherished memories that will last forever. In 2024, he welcomed his first grandchild, a beautiful granddaughter who brought him endless joy.

George was a true best friend to many and will be remembered for his loyalty, his warmth, his humor, and his unwavering work ethic. His legacy of love, strength, and hard work will remain a guiding light to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

His Funeral Mass will be Friday December 12th 10:00AM at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring Street, Medfield. Burial to follow at Vine Lake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4-8 at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street.

In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been established in his name to support a graduating Medfield High School football player who embodies his Warrior spirit.
