George P. Conn, Jr.

George P. Conn, Jr., 82, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at home surrounded by his daughter and son in law. He was born on Wednesday, February 26, 1941 to the late George P. Conn Sr. and Helen Conn nee Reissinger in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He served in the Navy from 1958 to1961 on the U.S.S. Saratoga CVA-60 while it was stationed in the Mediterranean. After his discharge from the military, George graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and continued his graduate work at Lebanon Valley College. From there he used his knowledge and skills as a sales representative for Met Ed until his retirement. While at Met Ed, he served as the company photographer and earned serveral awards for company service goals. George was also very involved in his community. He was a Committee Member and Assistant Scout Leader of Boy Scout Troup 412 in Lebanon, where  he was also the recipient of the District Award of Merit. George was a  member of the Scottish Rites and a 32nd degree Mason of the Mt. Olivet Masonic Lodge 704, of which he was a member for 50 years. He served as Secretary of the lodge many years ago. In his free time, George enjoyed watching westerns, especially starring John Wayne, camping, riding his tractor, working in his yard, supervising his children during house projects, and most of all traveling with his wife, Ardell. He is survived by his Children; Kathleen Fritsche and husband Mark, George P. Conn, III and wife Trish, Raymond P. Conn and wife Becky; Grandchildren Eileen Parry, Philip Parry, Andrew Parry and wife Amber, and Johnathan Conn; Great Grandchildren Liam Alger and Lucas Parry; Brother Robert Conn and wife Ruth Ann; as well as a niece, nephew and many cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ardell R. Conn nee Spang who passed away on March 21, 2010.  

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held for George on September 30, 2023 at the Salem Lutheran Church in the Richwine Hall, 119 N. 8th Street, Lebanon, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. All are welcome to drop in at any time to fellowship and  share a favorite "George" story. A private interment will take place at Cornwall Cemetery following the gathering at Salem Church.
