George D. Coon, age 75, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born March 9, 1947, to Elva and Wilma Coon in Durant, Oklahoma.
George attended Durant High School. He enjoyed traveling, piloting and fishing. George owned and operated AAA Seamless Gutter Co. for 47 years.
George was Worshipful Master of Richland Hills Lodge #1348 two times as well as The Right Worshipful District Deputy Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas in 2007. He served as Chairman of the Gift of Life Committee for the Grand Lodge of Texas for several years interfacing with the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital and Carter Blood Bank statewide. In September 2021 George was coronated a 33-degree mason by the Supreme Council in Washington DC. He was a member of York Rite Masonry, Allied Masonic Degrees, Moslah Shrine, and chairman of the scholarship board of the Fort Worth Scottish Rite Foundation.
George is preceded in death by his parents; brother Dean Coon; and wife Norma Kay Coon.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Coon; four sons, Monte Coon and wife Toni, David Morgan and wife Penny, Steve Badyna and wife Mandy, and Abraham Foster and wife Lindsay; three daughters, Misty Coon Kilpatrick and husband John, Serena Ervin and husband Richard, and Roshonda Helm and husband Jay; brother Buddy Manners and wife Nell; thirteen grandchildren; and five great – grandchildren.
George Coon will be remembered as a Jack of all trades, and a committed and loving Husband, Father, Papa and Friend.
