Warren Thompson of Justin, Texas passed away on September 13, 2025 at home in Justin. He
will always be remembered as loving husband, Dad, Uncle Warren, Popsie and friend to all that
knew and loved him. He was born on May 23, 1938 in Clovis, New Mexico to Claude Alex and
Martha Isbell Thompson. In his early years he lived in various small towns in Texas and New
Mexico as his father followed his profession as a doctor. He was married to his beloved wife E.
Correne Thompson on June 7, 1958 in Eunice, New Mexico at Highland Baptist Church.
Together they lived in Shawnee, Oklahoma where their daughter was born. Then moved on to
Odessa, Texas where their son was born. They also lived in Charlotte, North Carolina; Clinton,
Iowa; back to Eunice then Georgetown, Texas; Palm Coast, Florida and finally Justin, Texas.
Warren graduated High School in Eunice in 1956 and then graduated from Oklahoma Baptist
University with a BA in Chemistry in 1961. For the next ten years he worked as a chemist until
going back to Eunice to work on the family cattle ranch and then in the oil field. Finally he
worked as a golf cart salesman until retirement in 2005.
Warren was active in many things throughout his life. He participated in soccer, softball, water
skiing, bowling, and golf. He coached pew wee football, little league baseball and softball. He
was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan since the 1960's. He also loved attending ice hockey games,
from the Charlotte Checkers in the 60's to the Dallas Stars once returning to Texas. He was
quite the sports booster too. He was in attendance for children, nieces and nephews,
grandchildren and friends for football, basketball, baseball, wrestling, golf, track, soccer, weight
lifting, volleyball, cheerleading, gymnastics, karate, band, choir, plays, bowling, academic
competitions, horse riding and showing, ag competitions, debates, banquets, graduations and
weddings.
Warren was very active in all of his churches. He was ordained a Deacon at First Baptist
Church in Georgetown, Texas in June of 2002. He has served as Sunday School teacher,
Hospital/Illness visitation member, grievance and prayer chain committee member at every
church he has attended. As well as starting and organizing senior groups, Prime Timers and the
Men's Breakfast Club, particularly the Justin Men's Breakfast Club.
He is survived by daughter Debbie Thompson of Justin, Texas; son Doug Thompson and wife
Monika Thompson of Montgomery, Texas; grandchildren Robynn Watson and husband Matt
Watson of Northlake, Texas, Mallory Burleson-Bice and husband Aiden Bice of Montgomery,
Texas, Rebecca Preston and husband Thomas Preston of Katy, Texas, Jessica Geiman and
husband Josh Geiman of Chesapeake, Virginia and Cody Womack and girlfriend Kristin
Gopichand; great-grandchildren Savannah Burleson, Greyson Bice, Cameron Preston, and Cole
Preston; sister-in laws Kay Patterson of Ruidoso, New Mexico and Barbara Spencer and
husband Tracy Spencer of Littlefield, Texas; and nephews/wives Jason and Ludy Robinson,
Cody and Carma Patterson, Carey and Heather Rudd, and Chad Patterson; nieces/husband
Marla and Rocky Ayatsuka and Amber Heady and multiple great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father Doc Thompson, mother Martha Thompson, father-in-law
Ross Robinson, Sr, mother-in-law Ollie Bell Robinson, and brother-in-law Ross Robinson, Jr.
and great granddaughters Sadie and Olivia Geiman. The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00
PM on Saturday September 20, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Justin, 402 W 8 th Street, Justin,
Texas. Flowers and plants may be delivered to the church on the day of the service.
