George Corriveau Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hope Memorial Chapel - Biddeford on Dec. 31, 2025.
George O. Corriveau, 85, of Biddeford, Maine passed away peacefully holding the hands of his loving family at his home in Waterboro, Maine at 2:47pm on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025. George was born in Presque Isle as the first child to Evelyn and George Corriveau. As their family began to grow, they moved to a family potato farm in Caribou, Maine where George grew up with his brothers Ronnie and Dickie, along with many other Corriveau family members.
George's family eventually found their way to Southern Maine where they worked hard on a large dairy farm. He, his father, and his brothers would milk the cows twice a day, hay the fields, plant and tend the corn, feed and tend the cow stalls. Hard work and a great love for animals was instilled in George at a young age.
As time went on, George graduated from Biddeford High School, enlisted into the United States Army, and spent a 2-year tour overseas in Germany. Once George was honorably discharged from the Army, he was hired to work at The Pepperrell. He met Lorraine Dutil, they fell in love, and they became man and wife. They started a family, and later on George went to work as a Class A CDL Truck Driver for Hannaford Brothers. George achieved a 33+ year successful career earning a rare 3 million mile award with no accidents. He also won several trucking rodeo competition trophies in Scarborough, Maine as well as St. Louis, Missouri. Growing up in our household, we never went without. He drove up north in all kinds of nasty weather, never calling out, tired. What an exemplary employee. A hard working man providing for his wife and 4 children. He was amazing.
George had many things he enjoyed in his lifetime. He and Lorraine loved to snowmobile and go on long motorcycle rides with friends. He loved taking friends and family boating on local lakes. He cherished his memories of he and Lorraine taking the
motorhome to Tennessee to visit Michelle and her family or simply driving it to the Clambake. They had great memories of card games and cookouts by the pool at Nanny and Pepere Dutil's house, and family trips to Florida with aunts, uncles, and cousins. George was a life-long member of St. Joseph's Parish and he always enjoyed attending church services. Being the devoted catholic and selfless person that he was, he always prayed for others. George was a jovial, kind, loving, helpful, happy man. If you had a chance to meet him, you never forgot him. If you didn't have a chance to meet him, you missed out on one of God's special treasures.
George is predeceased by his wife Lorraine (Dutil) Corriveau, his father, George Levi Corriveau, his mother, Evelyn V. (Estes) Corriveau, and his brothers Ronald and Richard Corriveau.
George is survived by his 4 children Michelle (Corriveau) Heldman, James A. Corriveau, Sr. and wife Kelly, John K. Corriveau and wife Wendy, and George O. Corriveau, Jr. and wife Dana. 6 grandchildren James A. Corriveau, Jr. and wife Angela, Brittany (Corriveau) Roberts, Matthew Heldman, Madison Heldman, Nolan Corriveau, and Caleb Corriveau. Finally, his 5 great-grandchildren John, Bentley, David, Gracie, and Harley.
Dad, you will be missed more than words can say.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, Maine 04005. A funeral mass will follow at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford at 1:00 pm.

George you will be missed very much. We will miss the Bob and Jim stories you always told. You were not family by blood, but you were our family in our hearts. We will miss you, but you are with Lorraine again and at peace. Watch over us in your little paradise you are in.

Love you,
Bob and Kim Leclair
