George W. Craft, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 78. Born on September 9, 1946, in Huntington, West Virginia, he was the son of George and Ermalee Craft (Smith).
On June 30, 1973, George married Catherine Morrison. Catherine and George spent their lives raising their four children. He was a devoted family man.
George was known for his dedication to his work, whether it was in construction or as a skilled diesel mechanic. Throughout his life, he embodied the spirit of hard work and creativity, a true jack of all trades. He loved working on small engines and buying, selling and repairing lawn equipment. He also enjoyed exploring garage sales—often coming home with unique finds. George also collected knives and watches and loved to go fishing.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine Craft (Morrison), who stood by his side through all of life's adventures. George was a proud father to his daughter, Ronda (Jose "Pepe") Arroyo, and his sons, Tom Craft, Larry (Heather) Craft, and Gary Craft. His legacy continues through his grandchildren—Morgan Craft, Nathan Morrison, Miranda Cisneros, Alex Morrison, Kaylin Craft, Brianna Craft, Carson Craft, Kherington Craft, and Maloree Craft—as well as his great-grandchildren, Kayson James Morrison, Isla Rae Morrison, Ariyah Lynn Staner, Jessa Jo Jagger, Jovi Jean Jagger, and Jett Elizabeth Jagger. He is further survived by his siblings, Johnny Craft, Kenny (Lena) Craft, Debbie Craft, and Barbra Akins, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, George and Ermalee Craft (Smith), and his siblings, including brothers Jimmy and Donald Craft, and sisters Phyllis Joseph, Thelma Mae Rudd, Mary Helen Clemons, and Doris Jean Marsillett.
