George Curl Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mathis Funeral Home - Medford on Jan. 8, 2026.
George David Curl, age 77, of Berlin, NJ passed away on Monday January 5th, 2026.
Dubbed "Dave" because his father was also named George, he was born and raised in Chester, PA where he lived until meeting the love of his life, Nancy Shollenberger, at Bloomsburg State College.
They started their family of 3 boys in Marlton, NJ and eventually moved to Tabernacle where George became heavily involved in the Tabernacle Athletic Association and was a founding member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church.
An avid supporter of all sports, he was especially fond of whichever NFL team his brother was coaching for.
For years, Dave worked as a cost estimator for Catalytic and Day & Zimmerman where he was an "expert spreadsheet maker".
Dave's love for his family was abundantly clear as he supported, and was involved in, every activity his kids participated in. This included coaching multiple youth sports teams, leading youth group retreats, and even playing Nebuchadnezzar in the church pageant.
As his wife's official cookie taster, Dave never found a cookie he didn't enjoy!
Dave was proceeded into Heaven by his loving wife, Nancy, and his parents, George and Dorothy Curl; and is survived by his sons, Jonathan (Amanda), Brian (Roman), Kevin (Robyn); grandchildren, Camrynn, Connor, Trey, Pheona, Axel, Colin, Reagan; and brother Richard (Bev).
Final arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in George's name may be made to The Christian Caring Center at https://www.christiancaringcenter.net/support or Lord of Life Lutheran Church at https://www.lolfamilycorner.com/donate To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of George Curl, please visit our floral store.
