George Robert Davis, affectionately known as "Woody," 88, passed away on February 21, 2025, in Neenah, Wisconsin. He was born on May 27, 1936, in Naples, Illinois.

Following his graduation from Bluffs High School, Woody served honorably in the Air Force from 1958 to 1962, where he was stationed in Korea and worked on radar systems. His commitment and hard work were defining features of his career to which Woody dedicated over 30 years working for Korditte Plastics and Presto Products.

Woody was an avid fisherman. His passion was bass fishing in Door County and trout fishing on the Crystal River. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing, and took pleasure in woodworking, demonstrating his love for both nature and creating.

Woody is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Davis; sons James Davis, Mark (Annie) Davis and Shawn (Kathy) Davis; daughter-in-law Nancy (Kevin Scheffen) Davis; grandchildren Ellie Davis, Spencer Davis, Benjamin Davis, Holly Davis, Amanda Grode, Lucas Davis and Shelby Davis. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Patti (Tony) Boulanger and his foster sister Shirley Berry.

Woody is preceded in death by his son Chad Davis, his mother Nina Davis, brothers and sister: Steve Cockerill, Mike Cockerill, Kaye “Cookie” Cockerill, and Gerold Cockerill; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law George Berton, Joan Oberle, Larry Berton, Tom Berton, Wayne Berton, Jeff Berton, Diane Bohm, Peter Berton, Rick Berton and Randy Berton.

A visitation to honor Woody will be held on March 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior St. in Appleton, WI, with a Celebration of Life at 12:30 pm and military honors to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Woody’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation.

George Robert Davis lived a full and meaningful life, one that revolved around his family and the pursuits he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
