George F. Deimling

George Deimling, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2023, surrounded by his devoted family. George was the son of Richard and Ann Deimling (Woestman) and was born and raised in Cincinnati. He attended St. Francis De Sales in Walnut Hills and then St. Thomas More for grade school. He attended McNicholas High School and then went on to earn a business degree from the University of Cincinnati. He worked in finance and banking after graduating. He was Vice President of Cottage Savings and Loan and then went on to work at Third Federal where he retired in 2011.
After retiring, George enjoyed spending time with his wife, Donna, their children and grandchildren. The family enjoyed yearly summer trips to Norris Lake. They spent many days with their grandkids at Coney Island, Cincinnati Museum Center, and the Cincinnati Zoo where they created a lifetime of memories.
George learned to play pickleball in retirement, as well; and he and Donna made new friends through the Mt. Washington Rec Center. He was an avid golfer. He played with his brother, Phil, his kids and grandkids often, and was part of a weekly golf group. George was a huge Cincinnati Bearcats, Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan. He loved attending his grandkids sporting events and other extracurricular activities. Grandpa was their biggest fan.
George was the beloved husband of Donna (Lammers) Deimling and the late Judy (Tibbles) Deimling. Loving father of Matt Deimling, Julie (Gary) Platton, Mike Deimling, Jena (Todd) Gundrum and stepfather of Eric (Dorothy) Wahl, Dain Wahl and Amy (Chris) Segar. Grandfather of Max, Bobby, Alex, Trevor, Ali, Arian, Andrew, A.J., Parker, Fiona, Sam, Chloe and Crosby, great-grandfather of Evan. Dear brother of Phil (Barb) Deimling, the late Ralph (Rita) Deimling and Denis (Pat) Deimling. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Lifelong friend of Harold (Maureen) St. Clair.
Family and friends are welcome for a Memorial Service on Friday, December 29th at T.P. White and Sons at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held before the service, from 12:30 to 2:00 PM.
