WAREHAM - George W. Donahue, age 89, of Wareham, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024. Born in Brockton, MA on April 3, 1935 to the late Lawrence Donahue and Anne (Paulin) Donahue, George was the beloved husband of Dorothy for 69 years. Loving brother to the late Lawrence Donahue, the late Mary (Donahue) Hayden; the late Jack Donahue and Richard Donahue.
Known for his infectious sense of humor, George had the ability to make people laugh. His quick wit and lightheartedness brought joy to those around him and his presence could lighten any room.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy Ferrone; his 3 sons, Steven and his wife Jackie of Anderson, SC, Mark and his wife Nanci of Stoughton MA, and Robert and his wife Rosemary of Buford, GA. He was the proud grandfather of 4 grandchildren, Justin, David, Nathan and Lexi and the great-grandfather of 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to life.
His Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024 at St Patrick's Church, 94 High St., Wareham, MA. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his honor to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
