George Kenneth Elste Jr.

George Kenneth Elste Jr. passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. Born in Prestonsburg on May 22, 1970. He is the son of the late George Elste, Sr. and Wanda Evanell Reed Elste. He is preceded in death by a brother, James Sidney; sister, Mary V. Weaver; and special "brother", David Chaffins. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jakob Elste (Nadia Martinez) of San Antonio, TX; daughters, Ariann Elste (Weston Casey) of Lexington, Hannah Conn of Bowling Green, Kylie Elste (Austin Webb), Brooklyn Elste, and Georgia Elste, at home; and Charlotte 'Ally' Elste of Prestonsburg. He also has 3 grandchildren, Izavella and Mateo Elste of TX and Luna Casey of Lexington; sister, Martha Elste Jones (John) of Lenore, WV; his 'special son', Kenneth Wood of Lenore, WV; and his love, Julie Hayes and her sons, Austin and Caiden. He has one uncle, Darvin Reed of Prestonsburg, who he loved to go hunting with, a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
The memorial service is planned for Tuesday, March 21st at 1:00 PM at the Endicott Freewill Baptist church with the Rev. Mark Hunt officiating. Friends and family are welcome to arrive for visitation hours from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Lung Society, Cancer Society or Shriners' Children Hospital.
