George Alice Ferguson, 80, a member of the North Portland community passed away on January 22, 2026 at Maryville Nursing Home.

George Alice Ferguson loving wife, mother and grandmother has passed away on January 22, 2026, at Maryville Nursing Home. She was born to George Joseph Petrina and Colleen Constance (Ellsworth) Petrina on January 23rd, 1945, in Portland Oregon.

Georgie grew up in Portland, Oregon, and was the oldest of 7 children. The family moved several times during Georgie's early childhood. Their final move was to North Portland on North Delaware She attended St. Cecelia Church and grade school, and North Catholic High School. She was very involved in the alumni association with North Catholic throughout the years.

Georgie married Bruce Ferguson on July 25th, 1964. They settled in St John's after moving several times those first few years. Georgie and Bruce had three sons, Bruce Jr., Shawn, and Daniel Scott.

Georgie loved music, she played the piano and accordion. She loved to dance and sing. She was taught Cribbage by her Grandpa Mac and played with everyone. She enjoyed gardening flowers, especially roses. Her life was full of people, friends and family.

Georgie worked hard all her life. Her first job was at the family meat market Griffith's Grocery in North Portland, and at the 8th and Dekum location. She and Bruce worked for Kirby Vacuum Sales. Following that she worked for Oregon Chief. She achieved her accounting degree from Portland Community College. She worked for Holy Cross Church and school. She worked at Subway and was a homemaker for several years in between her jobs, which she always loved.

She is survived by her sons Bruce Ferguson Jr. (Kathy daughter-in-law), Shawn Ferguson, and Daniel Scott Ferguson (Nancy daughter-in-law).

Grandchildren: Nicholas, Kayla, Jack, Crystal, Clarissa, Conner, Kyle. Great Grandchildren: Sophia, Lillian, Noah, Mercy and Glory.

Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Maryville Nursing Home, Holy Cross Church or Holy Cross School.

She is preceded in death by George and Colleen Petrina (parents), Bruce Ferguson Sr., (Husband), Jerry Petrina (Brother)

George was a beautiful individual and lived life to the fullest, she was always there for anyone who needed help. Her smile was infectious and was always cheerful. As her Grandson Nick said, she was the Matriarch of the family always and forever.

I Jean Townsend remember her ral ways from my a n n e Smith and when I went to Sophie's Island to visit them at Christmas time and played with their with her kids thanks Georgie I even saw them get married Georgie will be missed by all
