George F. Fisher, age 92 of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, at Mercer Health Hospital in Coldwater. He was born on January 16, 1933 in Coldwater to the late Clarence & Rita (Vehorn) Fisher.
On October 8, 1955, he married Jeanette (Schoch) Fisher and she preceded him in death in 2018. He is survived by his children Cindy & Jeff Fink of Mendon, Doug & Carol Fisher of Troy, Cathy Romer of Galena and Ken & Donna Fisher of Coldwater; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marilyn Kanney of Coldwater. He is also preceded in death by siblings and in-laws, Mary Ann & Ralph Schmitt, Gerry & Raymond Sininger, Roger & Lucy Schoch, Louis ‘Bud’ & Mildred Schoch, Rita Noll, and Vince Kanney.
George was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater. George was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Coldwater American Legion. He was a coach of CYO basketball, the girls town softball team, and little league baseball. He was a kind, generous, and active participant in the many activities of his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed golf, gardening, the Price is Right, horses, and supporting his favorite athletic teams. In his later years, he enjoyed his artistic endeavors.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 PM to 4 PM on Sunday, November 23, and on Monday from 9 AM to 10 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice.
