Ruth (Diller) Heyne, age 83, of St. Sebastian, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 16, 2025, surrounded by her large, loving, and faith filled family. She was born August 19, 1942, in Coldwater to the late Zeno & Anna Marie (Will) Diller. On February 1, 1964, she married Earl H. Heyne Sr., and he passed away on February 5, 2023. Ruth is also survived by children: Cindy & Steve Bensman of Anna, Lois & Eric Braun of Napoleon, Judy & Doug Forsthoefel of Coldwater, Darlene & Tim Lyons of Versailles, Earl Heyne Jr. of Coldwater, Karen & Randy Kuess of St. Sebastian, Debra Dulle & Tony Monsivais of Pandora, her “German Exchange Sons” Stefan & Simone Reinheimer, and Thomas Reinheimer, 27 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 4 on the way, as well as siblings and in-laws: Bob & Lynn Diller of Tennessee, Neil & Pat Diller of Ft. Recovery, Alan & Rosie Diller of Coldwater, Louie & Jeanette Diller of Ft. Recovery, Jim Remaklus of Coldwater, Marilyn Heyne of Coldwater, and Rita Heyne of Centerville.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her five angel babies, infant brother, Arthur Diller, siblings and in-laws: Dan Diller, Marion Diller, Alice Remaklus, Oscar “Shorty” Heyne, Lester Heyne, Joyce Flinn, Rosie Albright, Harry Eckrote & Norma Jean Eckrote, Ralph Heyne, and Nancy Heyne.
Ruth was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in St. Sebastian, Ohio. She was devoted to her faith and she also served as a CCD Instructor, Director of Religious Education in St. Sebastian and longtime supported the Mercer County Right to Life. Ruth was a lifelong homemaker, farmer and found her greatest joys from being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her family and the memories made for over 25 years at the family “Grandcamp”.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Monday, October 20, 2025, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00pm – 5:00pm on Sunday, October 19, or from 9:00am – 9:45am on Monday, October 20, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice, the Mercer County Right to Life, or the Morgan’s Place Cemetery in Sidney. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com
