George Ray Fox Jr

George Ray Fox, Jr. age 85 of Springfield passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was born September 3, 1940 to George Ray, Sr. & Ruth Ellen Broyles Fox. He was retired after 21+ years of service with Peterbilt Motors. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne from Fort Campbell as a paratrooper. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, farming and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; George Fox, Sr. & Ruth Ellen Fox; brothers, James, Fred and Bobby Fox; sister, Sylvia Lam; son-in-law, James Gobelet. He is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years, Linda Cook Fox; son, George Ray Fox, III (Lisa); daughter, Paula Ellen Gobelet; granddaughters Angel (Matthew) Baker and Rayann Fox; great-granddaughters, Emile and Avery Baker, all of Springfield, TN brothers, Larry and Teddy Fox; sister Wanda Frantz, all of Virginia. Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 1pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Rev. Bob Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation is planned for Friday, October 24, 2025 3-5pm and Saturday, October 25, 2025 11am-1pm at the funeral home.
