It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of George Joseph Green, 78, of Craryville. He passed away at his home following a battle with cancer on June 1, 2025.
George was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the Army from April 1967 to March 1969. He loved all things outdoors – fishing, hunting, boating, gardening, golfing and enjoying a beer on his front porch. There were many places he loved to visit – Lake George, Myrtle Beach, and Cancun were just a few of his favorite places to be.
He is predeceased by his wife Jeanne of 25 years. He is survived by his sons Brian (Meredith) and Kevin (Kathleen), sister Patty (Greg), his wife Wendy of 21 years, stepchildren Sandy (Frank), Doug (Tonya), Mindy (Michael), his nine grandchildren, Declan, Nora, Maggie, Jackson, Kayla, Erin, Ashley, Ryan, Kolby, and several nieces and nephews as well as many friends. His smile, humor, and laugh will be greatly missed by so many.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 28th at the Craryville Rod & Gun Club (1641 County Rt. 11, Craryville NY 12521) from 1-4pm, where he was a member for 20+ years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hillsdale VFW Cadby Shutts Post 7552 (PO Box 10 Hillsdale, NY 12529) or to the Copake Community Rescue Squad (283 Mountain View Rd. Copake, NY 12516)
