George Lester Grogan III, age 79, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord Monday, January 29, 2024 at his residence. George was born March 3, 1944, in Atlanta, Texas, to George Lester Grogan Jr. and Jolee Tittle Grogan. He was a 1962 graduate of Atlanta High School; retired from Lone Star Steel after working 40 years as a millwright; and served in the United States Navy as a SEABEE during the Vietnam War. George was a member of Atlanta Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lyssa Jean Grogan and Rebecca Grogan Clements and her husband Bill Clements; nephew, Bryan Clements; and by his parents.
George is survived by his wife, Mary Grogan of Atlanta, Texas; bonus children, Jeff Warren and wife Michelle of Atlanta, Texas, Lisa Knowles and husband Tim of Texarkana, Texas; grandchildren, Justin Warren and wife Kaci, Jackson Warren and Hannah Wicks all of Atlanta, Texas, Kyra Knowles of Conway, Arkansas, Karoline Knowles of San Marcos, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Judson Warren of Atlanta, Texas; nephew, Derek Clements and wife Marlene of New Boston, Texas and their sons, Trent Clements and wife Gracie and Brandon Clements.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 3, 2024, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Keith Feille officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 1 pm to 2 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
