Stuart is preceded in death by parents, Allan and Jodie Ruth Callison and his sister, Alice Callison.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Callison of Queen City, Texas; sons, John Callison and wife Rene of Bloomburg, Texas, and Jeff Callison and wife Tina of Queen City, Texas; grandchildren, Jonathan Callison and wife Molly of Tyler, Texas, Allan Callison of Queen City, Texas, Christopher Nickoson of Conway, Arkansas, and Kelsey Fontaine and husband Grant of Tyler, Texas; niece, Becky Henning and husband Stan of Kingman, Kansas.
Stuart served in the United States Air Force for five years. While stationed in Bermuda, he met his wife Janet, before moving home to the Texarkana area to begin their family. A twenty-five year career at the Texas Department of Transportation brought service awards, including the Extra Mile Award. He also served on the City Council of Queen City. Stuart was a member of the First Baptist Church of Queen City.
Stuart had a passion for race cars, fishing, baseball, and especially the New York Yankees. He could always be counted on for a phone call to just check on the people he loved. Through his tough exterior was a kind-hearted man who cared deeply about those closest to him.
The Callison family sends a special thank you to caregivers Adee Bailey and Alandria Maxie; nurse Scarlet Hood; Macie Burkhalter, Tiffany Heath, and Anna Clark from Heritage Hospice; Heritage Home Health Aides Tish Steiger, Shawn Johnson, and Jasmine Butler; Melanie Stone, NP, Collom and Carney Clinic.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Hanner Funeral Service.
