George Guidish, 59, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.
George was born in Long Beach, California on December 26, 1964, the son of Wayne and Mary Ann (Campbell) Guidish.
On October 20, 2013, he married Tammy Schilling and she survives in Centralia.
Also surviving by his children: Skyler Guidsh (wife, Samantha), Tyler Guidish (wife Haley), Travis Guidish (fiancee Clarissa), step-children Emily Kingery (husband Troy), Andrew Cole (wife Lindsay), Madison Gray (husband Travis); Grandchildren: Magnolia and Axel Guidish, Karsyn and Karter Guidish, Leighton and Brantley Guidish, Aubrey Beezhold, and Serenity Hoffarth, Tiberius, Felicity, Vivianne, Theodora, and Zephaniah Kingery, Laiklyn, Lorelai, and Lincoln Cole, and Cameron Gray; a brother: David Guidish; and several nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
George served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1983 - 1987. He was a parole officer and was employed at the Illinois Department of Corrections for 32 years. He enjoyed camping, tinkering around with different projects and loved spending time with his grandchildren. George also served as a deacon at Calumet Christian Church in Centralia.
Funeral Services for George Guidish will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Anthony Sweeney officiating. A Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, October 7,2024 from 5pm-7pm at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calumet Street Christian Church and will be accepted by the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to George's Family.
