George Hall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wolfe Funeral Home - Fort Mill on Dec. 19, 2025.
George Howard Hall, Jr. passed away on Dec. 13, 2025 at Atrium Hospice Care in Monroe. He was born in Charlotte, NC on Feb.17, 1941 to parents George H. Hall, Sr. and Helen Oxentine Hall. He grew up in Charlotte, graduating from Harding High School. The family lived in downtown Charlotte and despite all the development the old home place remains and is beautifully kept. He liked to revisit our Westbrook Dr. neighborhood. He loved to work, make money and it started at age 14. He learned the machine trade working for others, later starting his own business at Aquarius Machine in Fort Mill, SC. He was a master machinist and fabricator, very respected in his field. He could make anything from metal, including beautiful urns for his wife, Joyce's, and his own ashes. During their 55 years together he and Joyce enjoyed time at Lake Wateree and North Myrtle Beach. He loved live blues and rock n roll, dancing and boating. He was also an accomplished violinist at an early age, playing in his aunt's wedding at age 14. He made friends easily and loved the ladies. He had his struggles at a period in time but at his best was charming, a good friend and brother. He was a good caregiver to Joyce and their family.
George is survived by his children Wayne Hall (Cathy), Lori Hall (Scott), Heather Kilgore (Lloyd), grandchildren Matthew Hall, Jade Kilgore and many other cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as sister Mary Lee Hayes (Greg). He is also survived by Joyce's children whom he raised with her, Chris Cantrell, Phillip Cantrell, Stanley Cantrell and Patrick Cantrell. He was predeceased by Deatrice Cantrell.
We extend special thanks to the kind and caring staff at Legacy Heights Memory Care.
A gathering to celebrate George's life and resurrection will be held at Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill on 12/30/25 from 2-4 pm. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of George, please visit our floral store.
